Between 7 and 11 November 2018, DEUTZ will be exhibiting on a surface of 120 square metres its latest drive solutions for off-highway agricultural and gardening machinery at the EIMA international trade fair in Bologna in Italy. DEUTZ Italy, independent DEUTZ subsidiary since October 2017, will be displaying the entire DEUTZ portfolio on Stand C29 in Hall 15, everything from electrified drives to clean 'Stage V certified' diesel engines. In all, some 1,900 exhibitors from over 40 countries will be represented at this trade fair.
As part of its E-DEUTZ strategy, DEUTZ, the specialist drive system company, demonstrated hybrid and all-electric drive systems in two prototype telescopic handlers for the first time in September 2018. The strategy is based on a modular electrification system, allowing customers to choose whatever is the optimum combination of conventional and electric drive components for their particular application. In terms of power output and capacity, every single E-DEUTZ component is scalable. The aim is to achieve a significant increase in efficiency which will reduce overall running costs, fuel consumption and emissions in equal measure. This modular electrification system is ideally suited to equipment which is subjected to high dynamic loads in the low to medium power range, such as telescopic handlers working in busy farmyards. In addition to avoiding exhaust emissions in the full-electric mode, noise emissions are also considerably lower; this offers decisive benefits in livestock operations since the animals suffer less stress.
Clean diesel technology for EU Stage V
In addition to electrification, DEUTZ will also be demonstrating its expertise in powerful diesel drives for agricultural applications, including sophisticated exhaust aftertreatment, in Bologna. As early as 2017, DEUTZ was the world's first engine manufacturer to be awarded a certificate for the EU Stage V emissions standard that comes into effect on the first day of January 2019 and since then has been marketing its engine range under the 'Stage V certified' seal. The particular added value for customers is that switching from the current EU Stage IV to Stage V requires no additional installation space, thus avoiding expensive modifications to customers' equipment.
From 2019, DEUTZ will also be making further significant additions to its higher output range portfolio, with four new in-line engines of between 9 and 18 litres capacity. The TCD 9.0 four-cylinder engine and the TCD 12.0 / 13.5 and 18.0 six-cylinder models deliver power output of between 300 and 620 kW and will be aimed in particular at heavy-duty off-highway applications. The DEUTZ TCD 9.0 has already won two awards: the Italian 'DIESEL' magazine named it 'DIESEL OF THE YEAR 2018' and it was included among OEM Off-Highway magazine's 'Top Ten New Products of 2017'.

At the same time, efficient and clean DEUTZ TCD diesel engines, which were the first engines to be certified for the Stage V emission standard, remain the instrument of choice when there is a need for high power.“
Digital service products speed up customer support
At EIMA, DEUTZ will also be introducing two digital aftersales service products. The free 'DEUTZ Connect' service app enables engine diagnosis to be carried out remotely via a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet. All the relevant engine data and the fault memory can be read out in the field and sent to the dealer with a single click, guaranteeing rapid and precisely targeted servicing procedures. Thanks to the intuitive design of the user interface the app won the internationally renowned design award “2018 Red Dot award”.
Also on show will be DEUTZ's new online service portal (www.deutz-serviceportal.com). Customers anywhere in the world can get in touch with their local service partner to register their engines online and to buy spare parts online 24/7. The provision of aftersales support and parts delivery will remain in the hands of the local DEUTZ partner close to the customer. This allows delivery times to be minimised and the most efficient support to be provided.
